Bob Perez Scholarship Fund
The Texas A&M University Judo team has recognized Bob Perez for 30 years of involvement with Texas A&M Judo with an endowed scholarship in his name. Texas A&M Judo already has a permanent judo scholarship that has awarded approximately $31,000 in scholarships since 2005, and saved judo athletes about $164,000 in tuition costs (out of state athletes receiving a $1,000 scholarship get in-state tuition, a savings of about $16,400 per year). Our alumni have been generous and we are well on our way of raising the $25,000 to permanently endow the Bob Perez Judo Scholarship. If anyone is interested in helping the TAMU Judo endow the Bob Perez Judo Scholarship please follow these links.

NCJA Joins NIRSA
The NCJA is excited to announce that it has submited the application to become an associate member of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association this academic year. As voted by the membership in the 2014 meeting, we became members of this organization becuase we understand that Judo is a club sport in the majority of the universities with active programs. Through NIRSA, we will be able to advertize our programs and support the establishments of new programs accross the U.S. The majority of the intramural and recreation programs in the U.S. are members of NIRSA and will receive information of the formal relationship between the NCJA and NIRSA, therefore, opening doors for students and instructors to receive support when opening new programs. We are optimistic that this new relationship will assist in the development of collegiate Judo in the U.S.
Strong Start for the NCJA Western Reginal Conference
